High Rank and Power? You’re Exactly Who We’re Investigating

The world is one big shoddily run operation, and the Great Yong is even worse.

The Great Yong dynasty has lasted nearly two hundred years. It has seen an empress dowager rule as regent, the imperial clan seize power, relatives by marriage meddle in government, a woman take the throne, and two princes rule jointly. Now another dramatic turn is being added to the mix.

The reigning sovereign’s only two princesses are competing for the position of crown prince alongside a candidate chosen by the imperial clan. The second princess, Xie Changle, takes up her new post as Junior Minister of the Court of Judicial Review.

The waters in the capital run deep, and powerful, high-ranking officials are everywhere.

The court is in turmoil, and one misstep in the succession struggle could mean losing everything.

Xie Changle leads her team in sweeping across the entire capital. Powerful and high-ranking? Then you’re exactly who she’s investigating: the great clans and court ministers!

Xie Changle boldly declares: “I’ll investigate cases others don’t dare touch, and pass judgment on cases others don’t dare rule on!”

“There’s no such thing as a case I should or shouldn’t investigate, only whether I want to!”

“Got it?”

And so the Great Yong’s days of chaos begin in earnest. Pickpockets, hide your tails. Corrupt officials, watch your black gauze hats. As for the great clans...

Heh heh heh. They’re all trembling in fear. Xie Changle, don’t come near us!
