Some people leave the answer blank on the test of life.
His job is to fill in those blanks for them.
Li Yao, twenty-six, from Kyoto, is an ordinary programmer trapped by a mortgage and lines of code.
One night, an app called “Addendum” appears out of nowhere on his phone. It cannot be uninstalled, and he cannot refuse its tasks. Anyone who disobeys will suffer “accumulating bad luck until death.”
His first assignment: transmigrate into the body of a seventy-eight-year-old woman with terminal lung cancer and burn a stack of apologies she has written over the past thirty years.
In the flames, he sees the back of a boy in a school uniform. The boy never died, but he never came back either.
An “Addendum Keeper” is not a transmigrator, but a mender. What they mend is not history, but regret.
Every time he transmigrates, he takes on one final wish. He delivers a food courier's last order, a slice of cold cake; helps an old man with memory loss call out a name; and gives ordinary people crushed by the times a chance to finally say the words they swallowed.
But every time he returns, another faint blue-green mark appears on his chest: “empathic residue.” The more powerful the emotion, the stronger his ability, but the easier it is for the hunters lurking in the dark to track him down.
Someone is hunting the “Addendum Keeper.”
And at the end of all these unfinished wishes lies not the regrets of the dying,
but his own life, already riddled with wounds.
It's very interesting, and the plot is different from other novels on the market 🙂
