The Eunuch’s Beloved

Complete

Bai Shu fell gravely ill at the age of three and was marked by the Ghost Lord, who vowed to come for him when he turned eighteen.

To save his life, on Bai Shu’s eighteenth birthday, his father bundled up his only son and sent him overnight to the Grand Demon-Subduing Commander.

What he didn’t know was that the Commander’s residence was a den of wolves.

Bai Shu was sent off by his father in a daze.

He was so worried that he ate three extra bowls of rice.

But the Commander barely paid him any attention, treating him like he wasn’t there.

The Commander was peerlessly handsome, and the noblewomen of the capital had long been taken with him. But he was always cold and kept everyone at arm’s length.

Bai Shu relaxed. He was a man, and the Commander certainly wouldn’t be interested in him. So he ate and drank to his heart’s content, putting on a couple of pounds.

Someone coaxed Bai Shu into going to a brothel for drinks.

That night, the red-robed Ghost Lord came to his room, pulled down his trousers, and smacked him twice.

Bai Shu shouted through his tears, “Commander, save me!”

The Ghost Lord said, “Your husband is right here.”

Bai Shu...

By day, the man was the cold-faced Grand Commander of the Exorcism Bureau, indifferent to women and able to dispatch demons with a single slash.

By night, he became the Ghost Lord, taking over Bai Shu’s bed. He was obsessive, dark, and even bit him.

After only a few days, Bai Shu had lost a lot of weight.

“I can’t live like this anymore. I have to run for my life.”

He packed up his valuables and escaped through the dog hole in the middle of the night.

He thought he’d escaped the tiger’s jaws, only to land in the wolf’s den. No matter what he did, he couldn’t escape the Commander’s grasp.

People in the capital said the Commander was keeping someone at his residence.

They were desperate to catch a glimpse.

One day it was a flower banquet, the next a poetry gathering.

Bai Shu was unhappy. “I’m not a monkey.”

The Commander said, “You’re no monkey. You’re the master of the Commander’s residence, and the apple of my eye, Bai Shu.”
