After finishing at the bottom of a billiards competition, Gu Yebai, a genius in the mathematics department, had his eyesight blackened. When he woke up, he was back in 1994 and became a high school boy with mediocre grades in a small town who was despised by everyone.
This year, billiards just entered the small town. The teacher said it was not doing its job properly, and the father scolded it as a crooked way. There were gangsters, gamblers, and old gangsters in the ball room.
But Gu Yebai had the top billiard theories for the next twenty years in his mind.
When the top student laughed at him for pretending, he used chalk to draw a clearing line on the desk; when the veteran in the ball room set up a game to humiliate him, he used mathematics to dismantle angles, probabilities and people's hearts; when provincial geniuses, retired national players, and underground masters appeared one after another, he discovered that knowing the future does not mean that he can win the present.
Basic skills, feel, inner demons, old cases, prejudices, family debts... Every shot is more difficult than imagined.
From a small-town boy who was scolded by everyone for not doing his job properly, to a national dark horse that made the entire video hall hold its breath.
Gu Yebai tightened his grip on the club and smiled softly:
"How difficult can it be to win a championship?"
"I've been waiting for this shot for two lifetimes."
