How is she a cannon-fodder character? She’s the ultimate empress!
[Transmigrate into a book + palace intrigue + fictional characters awaken + bickering couple + heroine loves herself + plenty of couples to ship]
Self-serving corporate drone VS deeply suspicious, scheming emperor
Su Wanxing, a top-tier 996 corporate drone, works herself to death pulling an all-nighter and transmigrates into a book, becoming the cannon-fodder Noble Consort in a palace-intrigue novel.
The eldest legitimate daughter of the Duke of Zhenguo, she has a brother who is a god of war sweeping across the frontiers, and the emperor is her childhood sweetheart. The moment she enters the palace, she becomes a Noble Consort with the authority to help manage the Six Palaces. She’s practically at the top of the harem hierarchy.
Yet she’s a pushover, constantly holding back and yielding for fear of attracting attention. Anyone can walk all over her.
In the end, she not only loses the emperor’s favor, but also gets her whole family under his suspicion, leading to their execution.
Su Wanxing’s response: “What a waste! Watch me turn it all around.”
She brings the ruthless competition of the workplace into the struggle for power in the harem.
She makes an example of one to warn the rest, takes on the Empress first, and combines kindness with authority to rescue her allies.
Su Wanxing wins every battle, until the sudden appearance of the heroine throws her plans into disarray.
“You’re saying you’re from the modern world too? Then why is your family in City A?”
It turns out the heroine is a fictional character! It was all part of the setting!
Su Wanxing says, “Easy. Watch me teach you how to awaken!”
The three of them form the strongest alliance.
At palace banquets, they debate the consorts into silence.
Beyond the court, they plan several moves ahead.
In the inner palace, they proceed cautiously at every turn.
Qi Xiao’s gaze grows hotter by the day. “Wanwan, you’ve changed so much.”
Su Wanxing smiles and traces a finger over his dragon robe. “Your Majesty, this is the real me.”
After pushing herself to the limit, she wants to lie flat. But how did she end up wearing the dragon robe?!!
