The Stars Revolve Around the Sun

The day my ex before my last one cheated on me, I smiled and kissed him in a restaurant, dodged a glass of red wine, then turned and walked into the wind.

My ex’s tenderness was a pool of stagnant water. I cut my hair and became his shadow, until even the chance to argue with him felt like a luxury.

Then I met him. A devilishly charming man who shone like the sun, with a carefree smile and a wild streak that came out when he rode his beat-up electric scooter and swore. One look was enough to make you fall. He stood high above me on the top floor, scorching hot, dangerous, and out of reach. But I didn’t want to keep looking up at him.

I wanted to be that foolish little star, falling toward him even if I got burned. This time, I wouldn’t run, give in, or pretend to be anyone’s perfect girlfriend. Devilishly charming CEO, you’re mine. I swallowed the key.
