After Transmigrating, She Begins Her Mission to Save the World

On her first day after transmigrating to the Tianlong Dynasty, she binds herself to a System. The System tells her to save the people from misery.

System: [Host, you must give the people of the Tianlong Dynasty a modern life within ten years.]

She looks at the tumbledown thatched hut and the villagers, thin and sallow from hunger, and falls into thought.

So

While others depend on the weather to grow crops, she develops hybrid rice and builds greenhouses.

While others travel by horse-drawn carriage or ox cart, she builds asphalt roads and connects the land with high-speed rail and airplanes.

While others pray to the gods when they fall ill, she builds hospitals, establishes health insurance, and provides everyone with regular checkups.

The empress goes incognito to visit the people. She steps into a farmhouse and sees electric lights, air conditioning, and cartoons playing on the television. She is too shocked to speak.

The old farmer eagerly hands her a glass of ice-cold cola. “Would you like to try some, honored guest? We made it with water from our own tap.”

After returning to the palace, the empress summons Shangguan Kelin that very night. Once she hears her suggestions, she immediately issues an edict: abolish the monarchy and establish a presidential system, where the capable rise and the incompetent step aside.

Addressing her ministers, she says, “From this day on, I am no longer the emperor. I am the first president of the Tianlong Dynasty.”

The old ministers kneel and weep in protest, but the empress shoots them down with a single line: “Times have changed.”

Three years later, the empress voluntarily announces her retirement and hands power to the Cabinet Council. Later renamed the “Cabinet Representatives,” they will elect the most suitable person to succeed her as president.

It turns out that saving the people begins with making sure they have enough to eat.
