The Fake Gay Count’s Little Vampire Is Putting on an Act Again

A social recluse is forced to act outgoing, and a straight man is forced to act gay. Lin Xiaosong, a severely introverted homebody in the modern world, dies after staying up all night working on a proposal. When she opens her eyes, she has transmigrated into Elinor Lamina, a pure-blood vampire descendant on the brink of extinction in sixteenth-century Europe. The newly appointed Earl Victor Fontings rose through military accomplishments and has no powerful family backing, yet he has weathered royal power struggles unscathed. Rumor has it he despises women, is openly gay, and is inseparable from his personal guard, Cyril. Even the king has given up on marrying his daughter to him. Their iconic first meeting: The heroine deliberately “accidentally” falls in front of Victor’s horse, exposing a wrist sunburned by the sunlight. With tears in her eyes, she says, “My lord, I’m sorry. I’m so clumsy, blocking your way...” Inside, she’s thinking, “Help! His horse is so tall! My legs are too weak to stand! Can someone drag me away?” Victor intends to ignore her, but her big, “tearful” eyes (actually squinting against the light) stir something in him. Acting on impulse, he takes her back to his castle.
