After working herself to death from an all-nighter, modern medical student Qi Zhaoning transmigrated to an imaginary ancient era. She became a little beggar of unknown origins, rescued by the young general Yan Yunzhou of Eastern Liao. Hiding her gender under the name 'Qi Ning,' she used her medical skills to make a place for herself in the military camp.
As they spent day after day together, she caught glimpses of Yan Yunzhou's warmth and sense of responsibility beneath his cold exterior, and secretly fell for him. He, too, was moved by her extraordinary intelligence and resilience. But the mark on her shoulder exposed her identity and aroused suspicions that she was a spy.
Just as the two countries were arranging a marriage alliance, Yan Yunzhou unexpectedly traded his military seal for her hand. After they married, the two fell in love while continuing to clash.
