I thought Gu Yan would fire me.
When the scene went viral across the company yesterday, I had even started updating my resume on the recruitment software. In the surveillance video, the dignified CEO of Gu Group turned into an oversized golden retriever, rolling at my feet and sticking out his tongue - this scene is enough for him to hate me forever.
But the next morning, nothing on my desk had been touched. The time card machine shows that my attendance is normal. Even when Zhao Lina saw me, she just snorted and walked away, instead of coming to find trouble as usual.
I was just wondering when my phone vibrated.
Gu Yan's WeChat message: "Come to my office at ten o'clock."
The tone was as cold as a death notice.
I took three deep breaths and went upstairs with my coffee. The door to the CEO's office was ajar. Secretary Lin saw me, smiled meaningfully, and opened the door for me.
Gu Yan was sitting behind the desk, wearing a straight suit and a cold expression. If I hadn't seen him like that yesterday with my own eyes, I would have definitely thought that everything yesterday was an illusion.
"Sit." He raised his chin.
I obediently sat down across from him and put the coffee in front of him.
Gu Yan didn't touch the cup of coffee. He stared at me for about ten seconds, as if he were examining a substandard proposal.
Then he said, "What exactly did you use on you?"
"Huh?"
"That scent yesterday." The tips of his ears began to turn red again, "If you come close to me again, I really can't control my fucking self."
I was stunned for a moment before realizing that he was talking about the "green tea fragrance" redeemed in the system mall. I only used that thing twice, once when I went to his office to deliver documents, and once when I met him in the elevator in the morning. Both times he died on the spot.
