Great Ming: An Eight-Year-Old Bandit Takes the Crown Prince to Collect Protection Money

In the tenth year of Hongwu, the imperial treasury is empty, and the empire is struggling to rebuild.

Transmigrated into the body of Zhu Wuyang, the eight-year-old ninth prince, he sees his stingy father Zhu Yuanzhang fretting over money every day and decides to make some quick cash for the Great Ming.

And so the Great Ming's first "Royal Security and Finance Group" opens for business!

"Father, the Northern Yuan are making trouble at the border again?" Zhu Wuyang says, wearing sunglasses and blowing a bubble with his gum.

"You insolent brat! That's called invading our borders!" Old Zhu grits his teeth.

"Got it. Uncle Xu Da, bring the gear. We're going to collect a toll from the Northern Yuan!" Zhu Wuyang waves his little hand.

Seeing Crown Prince Zhu Biao and Prince of Yan Zhu Di following behind, carrying steel pipes and account books, Old Zhu is completely exasperated!

From then on, the Great Ming goes completely off the rails.

Li Shanchang wails, "Your Majesty! The Ninth Prince brought men to demolish my home and seized it to pay off a loan shark!"

The Northern Yuan khan breaks down. "Stop attacking! We'll pay ten years' worth of protection money, all right?"

The officials tremble in fear, while every neighboring enemy state becomes a ripe leek waiting to be harvested.

Until one day, Zhu Yuanzhang looks at a mountain of silver, ten times larger than the Great Ming's treasury. The man who used to want to beat his son every day swallows hard, then smiles ingratiatingly.

"Good son, I hear the neighboring Kingdom of Goryeo still owes our family a security fee. They haven't paid up yet, have they?"
