Hua Tao, an orphan whose family was unjustly murdered by loyal ministers, was accidentally bound to the national transportation system. He relied on cutting-edge technologies such as potatoes, cement, steam engines, and flintlock guns to gain a foothold in the troubled times of the late Ming Dynasty. While fighting against the decadent civil servants and aristocratic forces headed by Fang Congzhe, he carried out land, imperial examination, and financial and taxation reforms.
