[Supernatural horror + mastermind behind the scenes + cutthroat education + dark comedy]
Lin Mo transmigrates to a parallel world. He has barely had two days to adjust when a runaway cement mixer truck sends him to his death.
When he opens his eyes again, he is standing in the recruitment hall of a world of horrors.
“Congratulations, you’ve been hired as a trainee dungeon creator,” the recruiter announces expressionlessly. “Please create a dungeon with a high death rate. The more resentment it generates, the easier it will be to get promoted.”
Lin Mo thinks for a moment, then smiles.
People in this world have no idea what an “exam” is. Their schools are so relaxed they might as well be on vacation, and their greatest fear is simply “how to survive in a dungeon.”
All right, then.
With a grand sweep of his hand, he creates his first dungeon: Sunshine High School. Rule number one: nobody can die in this dungeon.
The recruiter is about to blow her top. Then she sees what comes next: school from five in the morning to ten at night; monthly exam rankings posted for the whole school to see; the bottom fifty names printed in bold red and pasted outside the school gate; cafeteria staff who shake so badly that serving food is like living with Parkinson’s; one student makes a mistake, and the whole class is punished; at the end of the term, only the top three can leave, while everyone else repeats the year, with the difficulty increased by twenty percent.
The rating flashes on the screen: SSS rank. Estimated resentment output: fifty thousand per month, a full five times that of other dungeons in the same tier.
The recruiter falls silent.
“...Are you humans really this hard on yourselves?”
Lin Mo picks up his teacup and watches the surveillance footage. Among the twenty players pulled into the dungeon are several people he offended after transmigrating, including his ex-girlfriend, who dumped him for being poor.
“Don’t worry, no one will die.” He smiles faintly. “But they’ll learn what it means for being alive to feel worse than being dead.”
Welcome to Sunshine High School!
