Lin He wakes up to find that he has become a high school student in a parallel world.
Something is off about this world: five thousand years of Huaxia's history have vanished into mystery, while myths, legends, heroes, poetry, and songs have all been dismissed as “street-stall literature.”
Even more absurdly, a National Fate arena descends upon the world. Countries summon historical spirits to battle, but Huaxia has lost nine matches in a row. Its resources are running dry, and disaster is imminent.
When Lin He is randomly selected for the arena, he faces Naruto from Japan, the Knights of the Round Table from Europe, pharaohs and divine envoys from ancient Egypt...
But his summon list is:
[Option One: Metapod, who can only Harden]
[Option Two: Nobita Nobi with zero marks on every test]
[Option Three: Cannon fodder infantry who won't survive seven seconds]
[Option Four: A tiny, jelly-like slime]
[Option Five: Wolffy, with a 0% chance of catching sheep]
The entire school covers their faces and wails, “Pick the slime! At least it'll die with some dignity!”
Lin He just grins and presses the fifth option.
And so, the National Fate arena sees a series of ridiculous scenes:
Wolffy drives a beat-up mech and punches Shadow Clones into tears. The Seven Evil Wolves knock out priestesses with frying pans. Lazy Goat seals great demons with his “sleep aura”...
As the powerful contestants from other countries get beaten senseless by these “cartoon characters” and start questioning their lives, Lin He quietly opens the “Encyclopedia of Chinese Memes” in his mind.
“What's the rush? This is only the cartoon round.”
“Next time, I'll show you what it means to have the Great Sage Equal to Heaven wreak havoc in the Heavenly Palace, what it means for Bai Qi to bury four hundred thousand soldiers alive, and what it means for Li Bai to chill fourteen provinces with a single sword...”
“And Huaxia has billions of gods and an endless supply of heroic spirits.”
The writing is very good, the plot connection is also very smooth, and the details of the battle are also very detailed. Come on, the author.
Let's discuss what anime characters can be brought to the world in the future.
