The apocalypse arrives. Jiangyuan City loses power and internet overnight, and order collapses. Zombies roam the streets, and mutant beasts prowl everywhere.
Li Shan is an utterly ordinary, socially anxious quality inspector. His greatest ambitions in life were to go to work quietly, clock out on time, and avoid talking to people. But on the day disaster strikes, he is forced to grab an old wrench and fight his way from the factory machine room to Jiangyuan University. While other people awaken powers that unleash thunder or engulf the world in flames, he starts out with “remotely turning screws.”
The good news: he’s awakened metal control.
The bad news: at first, all he can control is screws and bits of metal.

The spark of Jiangyuan has been kindled.
But the deafening boom from Qing Shan City in the distance reminds him that the real battle has only just begun.
