Traditional romances of the Republic of China mostly focus on "love of family" or "struggle between family and country." This work uses "death letters" as the key point, subverting the perception that "it will be settled after death" - in the fictional Jinling City shrouded in heavy fog, if the deceased writes a "death letter" in a specified format before dying, it will appear under the pillow of the recipient at midnight seven days later. The content recorded in the letter can only be read by the recipient. The heroine's ability is not to write a letter, but to "open the letter in advance" - she can hear the echo of every word in the letter like a murmur at the moment the deceased's heart stops beating. This means that she will always know the truth, the secrets buried, and the hidden weapons that others will only tell after their death seven days before others. When the noose of power was wrapped around her neck from all directions, she discovered that all the attackers had one thing in common - they all wrote death letters to the same person within three days.
