One sword strike, and he’s reduced to dust.

The news spreads, and the Beiliang Sword Sect hunts Xiao Xia down. Along the way, Elder Chen of a rival sect sees him surrounded and, terrified, immediately tries to recruit him. “This young man’s depths are unfathomable. We have to win him over!”

And so, in a daze, Xiao Xia becomes an honorary elder of the Luoshuang Sect.

From then on, things get more and more ridiculous.

Xiao Xia: “I swore I’d only attack people named Lin Jian. If your name isn’t Lin Jian, you’re not worthy to fight me.”

His challenger sneers. “Simple enough. From now on, my name is Lin Jian!”

Xiao Xia: “All right, Lin Jian. Goodbye, Lin Jian.”

Another one bites the dust.

The entire cultivation world is abuzz: Who exactly is “Lin Jian”? Why does everyone with that name die? The experts change their names in droves, making “defeat Xiao Xia” their lifelong ambition.

Meanwhile, Xiao Xia is a complete loser who hasn’t even begun body tempering. He panics every day until he finally can’t take it anymore and comes clean: “I really am a loser, seriously!”

The Nascent Soul Patriarch pats him on the shoulder, tears in his eyes. “Fellow Daoist Xiao, you’re too humble. We understand.”

Xiao Xia: “What the hell do you understand?!”
