"The Bronze Yue and the Black Bird" is a long historical legend with Fu Hao, a female general from the Shang Dynasty as the protagonist. The story tells the story of "Hao", a daughter of an aristocrat, who entered the royal court of the Yin capital due to a political marriage. With her extraordinary courage and military talent, she grew from a hostess of Fang State to a pillar of the dynasty who held a bronze ax, presided over sacrifices, and commanded thousands of troops. The novel is set in the Bronze Age of the Yin and Shang Dynasties, focusing on the core of power of "Sacrifice and the Rong". It profoundly depicts the moving emotions between Fu Hao and Shang King Wu Ding from political allies to soul confidants, as well as her lifelong conquests against the ghosts and Qiang, and her final untimely death due to battle injuries. The whole book interweaves the cracks of oracle bones, the cold light of bronze and the mysterious image of the owl, recreating the atmosphere of that dynasty where theocracy was supreme, strong and romantic.
