Red, eerie light blankets the globe. The [Ghostgate National Destiny Game] is forcibly activated, and each country randomly selects a Chosen One to enter an instance based on Chinese folk-horror legends.

Break an instance’s rules, and players are reduced to ash on the spot. If a player dies, their country is struck by a supernatural disaster. The entire world watches the events unfold live, and each nation’s fate rests on its Chosen One.

Chen Yan, the Chosen One from the Dragon Kingdom, comes from a family of traditional artifact restorers. He has studied ancient folk customs and documents since childhood, and awakens the exclusive golden finger [Ancient Script Appraisal]. It lets him see the hidden traps concealed beneath the rules written on paper.

From underworld constables at City God temples and paper figures in shops selling funeral offerings to ghosts at ancient Yellow Springs waystations and mountain spirits in Painted-Skin Village, every Chinese folk-horror instance is crawling with danger.

Players from Sakura Country arrogantly provoke their foes and ignore the rules, only to be wiped out. Western players launch sneak attacks, hoping to steal the Dragon Kingdom’s items for clearing the instances.

While others are trapped in inescapable rule-based dead ends, trembling with fear, Chen Yan exposes loopholes, recreates ancient folk documents to rewrite lesser ghostly rules, and leads his team in sweeping through every instance.

Players from other countries: The Dragon Kingdom’s guy doesn’t play by any of the usual ghost rules!
