On his twenty-fifth birthday, delivery rider Chen Shi awakens the power to stop time while saving a girl, at the cost of pawning twenty-four hours of his lifespan. Debt collector A Miao shows up right after and tells him he owes 720 hours of “time debt.” If he can’t pay it back in thirty days, his lifespan will be drained in an instant.
To stay alive, Chen Shi is forced to join the Yama Hall’s debt-collection squad, handling time anomalies across the city: retrieving “time-stranded” people trapped by their obsessions, sealing “rifts in time” that warp the flow of time, and befriending Xiao Qi, a time-sensitive boy who escaped from the Longevity Hall laboratory.
As the missions grow more dangerous, Chen Shi discovers that the Longevity Hall is extracting time from living people on a massive scale to create an “elixir of immortality.” A Miao is also captured and used as the medicinal catalyst for the “Seed of Time.” In the final battle to destroy the Longevity Hall’s stronghold, A Miao sacrifices herself to destroy the Seed of Time. With her dying breath, she entrusts Chen Shi with her identification number and 2,700 years of debt.
Chen Shi inherits the work badge marked “Dingwei-73” and officially becomes a time debt collector. Alongside Xiao Qi and his teammates, he continues to fight the Longevity Hall and protect the city’s flow of time. The road ahead is long and the debt immense, but Chen Shi knows that as long as time keeps flowing, a debt collector’s work will never end.
“If you could trade time for money, how much of your life would you wager?” A delivery rider uses his life’s dwindling countdown to fight the greed of the entire world.
