[Son takes on scumbag dad / Scumbag dad transmigrates too? + love-triangle showdown + both leads are devoted to each other + redemption]
Su Nian died at the age of twenty-eight. Lu Shiyan killed her with his own hands. She died because of her husband Lu Shiyan's eternally cold expression, and in the opulent yet frigid cage of the Lu family estate.
When she opened her eyes again, she looked at his back and thought only one thing: Not this time. I'm done putting up with him.
Just as she was figuring out how to ask for a divorce, the villa's front door was kicked open. A tall, outrageously handsome young man rushed inside and threw his arms around her legs. “Mom! Don't be scared! Let's kick that deadbeat dad who only gives us money and never comes home to the curb!” Su Nian looked at this “son,” who seemed a few years older than her, and slowly typed a question mark.
Later, Lu Shiyan pressed a black card into Su Nian's hand. “Honey, this is everything I have. Keep it safe.” Lu Cheng slapped the equity papers for a business empire onto the table. “Take it! Mom, look at mine. It's worth more than his!” Lu Shiyan stroked the diary he'd brought back from being reborn. Its pages were filled with everything that had made Su Nian unhappy in her previous life. He looked up at the brat who couldn't wait to kick him out of the house and curled his lips into a cold smile. Your dad will always be your dad.
“The things we resonate with at twenty may not resonate with us at forty, and vice versa. That's true of books, and it's true of life, too.” From "The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry" by Gabrielle Zevin
