In the Investiture of the Gods, Speedrunning Mythological Tales

“Young fisherman, did you drop this golden carp or this silver one?”

The River God smiled as he held up two fish, waiting for the little demon across from him to answer.

Shen Xu glanced at the River God, then at the tattered, half-missing Book of Heaven in his hands.

The Book of Heaven clearly showed a line of text: [The fable “The Golden Axe and the Silver Axe” has already been cleared by its previous holder. Rule remaining on this page: The greedy turn to gold.]

“I didn’t drop a fish.” Shen Xu grinned. “I dropped you.”

River God: ???

He had transmigrated, and brought along a Book of Heaven capable of rewriting the rules of myths.

The great calamity of the Investiture of the Gods would descend in three hundred years. By then, everyone not listed on the Investiture would turn to ash.

“Then let’s rewrite the Investiture of the Gods before the calamity arrives.”
