Captain Lu, the Consultant Is Eating Pancakes at the Scene Again

At a murder scene on a rainy night, criminal investigation captain Lu Zheng ran into an outrageous man.

Shen Si was squatting outside the police cordon, holding a pancake in one hand and a sheet of paper in the other. From the scene alone, he pinpointed the breakthrough in the case.

A doctoral candidate in criminal psychology at a prestigious university, he had dropped out and acquired a distinctly down-to-earth air. His essential crime-solving equipment was a hot pancake, and he had only two conditions for taking the job: daily pay, and absolutely no overtime.

A cool-headed, iron-willed detective × a laid-back genius consultant who loves to eat. Together, they swept through Jiangcheng's string of murder cases:

Locked-room killings, clues hidden in puppets, a chain of mysteries involving the eerie number seven... Each case twisted and turned, until the entire team went from deep skepticism to wholehearted admiration.

Everyone thought Shen Si was merely a crime-solving prodigy detached from the everyday world. No one knew the secret behind his sleepless nights every July 14.

In a locked drawer in Lu Zheng's office, a diary kept under lock and key for years held the shadow of an old case that had bound their lives together for half a lifetime.

As one baffling case after another emerged from the fog, the long-buried truth would finally come to light as the two investigated side by side.
