When he was six years old, his grandson, whom he was married to, disappeared in a fire. Zhou Shuyi was sent out of his home and "fostered" in an abandoned temple in the mountains. The situation in the court was changing, the new emperor ascended the throne, and everyone in the old princelings was in danger. Her grandfather, the prime minister, angrily criticized the new emperor in the Golden Palace for "incorrect access to the throne", and in exchange, several of his sons were demoted one after another. The Zhou family had too much time to take care of themselves, and no one came to take her home.
Fast forward six years. She grew up from the arrogant and willful daughter of the prime minister's palace to the most lonely resident of Qingyuan Temple.
Until a little monk of unknown origin lived in the broken house in the back mountain.
All she knew was that the young monk ignored her and treated her coldly. But she also knew that when she got cold, he would secretly send medicine to Xikuoyuan in the middle of the night. She also knew that on the day she got pregnant, he said "not going" but hid in the corner of the courtyard wall and watched for a long, long time.
A long time passed later.
"Do you love me?" She asked.
"No." He replied.
He said he didn't love her. She believed it.
She wiped away her tears, cut off her old relationship, and walked into the wind and snow of Chang'an City without looking back. Later, he knelt in front of her door, with heavy snow falling on his shoulders, and she said -
"Little monk, when you said you didn't love me, I believed you. Now that you say you love me, how can I believe you?"
A story about missing and chasing, a story about hard words and soft hearts, a story about - if you say you don't love me, I will take it seriously.
