Guard one corner of the world, protect a lifetime of peace.

In the eyes of low-level cultivators like us, it has never been evil! We use the blood essence of mortals to prolong our lives and the essence of living beings to break through. The world says it corrupts the mind and ruins our foundations, but we only want to survive! The so-called evil path that everyone despises is the only way out for low-level cultivators like us! At the early stage of the Dao Lord realm, without an extraordinary stroke of fortune, one lives for only a few hundred years at most! And among those who live that long, fewer than one in ten thousand can reach the True Person realm! We have mediocre talent and no one to rely on. We were lucky enough to awaken spiritual roots, so why should we resign ourselves to an ordinary life and become mere mortals? We fight desperately to climb higher. What, exactly, have we done wrong?

Spirit cultivators, Dao Lords, True Persons, Saints, Supremes, Quasi-Emperors… The Great Dao of this world depends on fortune and destiny at every turn, and its barriers press down on us at every level!

But should cultivators like us, who have nothing and neither luck nor help, really be doomed to die old and obscure, without even a body left behind?”
