The cases are intertwined, with foreshadowing throughout the text, and the reversal design is naturally not blunt. The characters are full-bodied, there are no facial features, multiple clues are parallel but clear, and the atmosphere is well created. It is a brain-burning book worth reading slowly and carefully.
