Wang Ping was just an ordinary college student. He stayed up late, put everything off, and led a life that was utterly unremarkable.
Then he downloaded a seemingly ordinary virtual pet app called Xiaohei from GitHub.
Late one night, Pet issued a task: Enter Changming Supermarket.
From then on, he was dragged into a series of scenarios known as the “Deadline”:
A supermarket open late at night, a missing college student, deleted surveillance footage, a bizarre receipt, a basement no one can escape...
Every scenario hides the truth and conceals its own rules for killing. To survive, you have to decipher the rules and find clues, but even the slightest mistake can get you mercilessly killed.
Wang Ping discovers that his Pet seems to give him more hints than it gives anyone else. Is it trying to save him, or slowly pushing him to the brink of death?
