"Ember Restart: Collapse" is not a story about a hero saving the world. It tells the story of a survey engineer who was thrown into the wasteland after the world collapsed. His talent is not strength or charisma, but seeing through the rules - he can read "what are the original rules here" in the ruins of chaotic physical laws. The real proposition of this book is: when the world itself is tampered with into a testing ground, all survivors are obeying an imposed "new nature", and one person chooses not to obey. Instead of adapting to this twisted new world, he tried to understand it, dismantle it, and rewrite the rules of the old world.
