System-driven + wild imagination + trope subversion
My name is Lin Shan, and I’ve been bound to the “Good Samaritan System.”
The System forces me to do good deeds every day. If I fail, it takes control of my body by force.
I thought it was a golden finger, so I worked myself to the bone, piling up merit.
Then, on the day my merit points crossed the critical threshold, the System told me:
“Your body has been requisitioned. Thank you for nourishing it.”
My soul was locked away in the deepest layer of the System.
Meanwhile, something else wore my skin and used my voice to tell the people I’d fought to protect:
“From today on, I am Lin Shan.”
They called it a saint.
They said I had finally “completed my merit and ascended to immortality.”
Nobody knew that a version of me was imprisoned inside the System.
Nobody knew that, deep in its lowest layer, I was slowly devouring the remnants of the souls of the saints who had been swallowed before me, one bite at a time.
I was learning. Waiting. Becoming more terrifying than the System itself.
If it dared to swallow me, I’d turn it inside out from within.
The System Wants Me to Be Good, but I Became a Monster: How an ordinary person chosen as the System’s sacrifice personally refined it into his own bonded magical treasure.
