When the Golden-Horned Immortal Maiden of the Celestial Palace was helping her revered master engrave the destinies of newborns in the mortal realm, she accidentally wrote the wrong destiny for one of the twin boys just born into the Ministry of War Minister’s household in the Great Jing Empire. This caused the girl to have a short and miserable life. To correct his mistake and punish him, Heaven sent him down to the mortal world to undergo tribulations and personally change the girl’s destiny, while helping her adoptive parents’ family and undoing every consequence of his actions.
After his master kicked the immortal down to the mortal realm, he possessed the body of the original owner, who had just died, and began his life of mortal tribulations. First, he returned to his birth family, then caused an uproar at the Minister’s residence, took the place of his wild older sister in marrying into the Prince of Qin’s household, where the prince lay unconscious, woke the prince, sent the crown prince flying at the Princess Royal’s residence, and angered the empress dowager in the palace, among other adventures.
With the Prince of Qin’s help, he exposed the crown prince and his allies’ rebellion, uncovered the plot behind the prince’s coma, and ultimately changed the fate of everyone in his adoptive family. He helped the Prince of Qin ascend the throne and became the Great Jing Empire’s first empress who truly knew how to lie flat and enjoy life.
