[Classic Wuxia] [One Heroine] [No Harem] [Wulin Conflicts]
Zhang Fuping was a scholar from Jiangzhou who hoped to pass the imperial exams and become an honest official.
Then, one night, an uninvited guest who had been gravely wounded arrived at his home. His father, Zhang Kuo, was a warmhearted merchant who loved welcoming guests, so he took the stranger in.
But the following evening, a band of masked assassins armed with steel swords broke into the Zhang family estate and slaughtered the dozens of people who lived there.
With his father risking his life to protect him, Zhang Fuping escaped through a secret passage in the house, though he was badly wounded.
The next day, he rushed to the Jiangzhou government office to report the crime. But the local county magistrate dismissed him, claiming the matter was an unclear dispute among the martial world. After having him beaten fifty times, the magistrate threw him out of the office.
Grief-stricken and furious, Zhang Fuping had no choice but to seek help from his future father-in-law, Chu Tianxiong.
But little did he know that what awaited him there was a descent into the abyss... The roots of all these misfortunes lay in the conflicts that had engulfed the martial world over a mysterious martial arts manual from the previous dynasty, the Plum Blossom Canon, and the Imperial Treasure.
