This is the story of the monkey who emerged from beneath Five Elements Mountain, first making for the Western Spirit Mountain Temple, then ascending to the South Heaven Gate!!!
During the Journey to the West, in the ordeal of the True and False Monkey King, the Great Sage’s soul was scattered at Western Spirit Mountain.
Sun Xingzhi transmigrated to the moment the Great Sage had just emerged from Five Elements Mountain, and happened to inherit those memories.
When he became a disciple, he awakened the Journey to the West System: “On the Journey to the West, the Host will receive rewards for vanquishing demons, subduing devils, and even for Tang Sanzang breaking his vows.
“Rewards include cultivation, divine abilities, magical treasures, cultivation techniques, elixirs... The greater the difficulty, the greater the reward.”
From then on, this monkey was different.
“Master, the headband can bind my head, but it can’t bind my heart.”
“Master, when are you going to give up being a monk? The Queen of the Kingdom of Women is still waiting for you!”
“Bodhisattva, just give in to Old Sun. You wouldn’t want your master to be eaten by a monster, would you?”
At the gate of the Great Thunderclap Temple on Western Spirit Mountain, the Great Sage took off the headband himself and proclaimed:
“I am the Handsome Monkey King of Water Curtain Cave on Flower-Fruit Mountain. Today, I shall attain sagehood at Western Spirit Mountain. I take the title Primordial Heavenly Dao, Supreme and Boundless, Ninety-Nine Returns to Truth, Unrivaled Great Sage Equal to Heaven! I want every god and Buddha beneath the heavens to see whether I am merciful!”
