From the start, the protagonist is a discarded pawn. The organization does not trust him; instead, he bears the stigma of being a traitor and is hunted by the very people he once served. His only advantage is the private intelligence network he built as the “Bluebird,” which remains intact, and a heart scorched by both hatred and faith. Using the identity of a fallen comrade as cover, he infiltrates the puppet “Chinese Youth National Salvation Corps” under Japanese and collaborationist control. Starting at the very bottom, he sells false intelligence to the Japanese army to earn his way up. He commits “crimes” to win the enemy's trust, then uses that trust to protect those who matter more.
