[Feel-good growth story + extraordinary childhood friends + the luck and hard work of ordinary people]
Four down-on-their-luck professors, five extraordinary childhood friends, and one warm little mountain village come together to form the toughest education dream team of the 1970s.
While other children are afraid to help anyone with a “bad class background,” she sneaks white-flour buns into a broken-down house.
The inspection team shows up? Shen Nuoyan says a word, and they follow her right out.
At long last, the college entrance exams are reinstated.
The five friends sweep the county's top spots and all head to the capital!
Old Locust Tree Village erupts with joy, and the professors burst into tears.
Shen Nuo pats her chest. “Don't cry. I'll take care of you all from now on!”
