The Song Dynasty's Martial God: Beginning with Escorting Jingniang a Thousand Miles

[Historical epic + passionate wuxia + struggles for supremacy + loyalty and honor]

In the waning years of the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms, rites and music have collapsed, and corpses of the starving lie everywhere.

This is a dark age where only blades matter and reason counts for nothing.

Zhao Kuangyin, a wandering hero from the streets, bursts onto the scene, relying on sheer courage and loyalty to make his way through the martial world.

From the start, he encounters injustice at a roadside inn. One strike of the Taizu Long Fist sends the villains howling. He storms a Taoist temple to rescue a woman in distress, then takes up a staff as tall as his brow and escorts Jingniang a thousand li, cutting down countless bandits and outlaws along the way and carving out a fearsome reputation in the martial world!

Someone asks him why he doesn't raise an army and rule for himself.

He laughs. “My sworn brother Chai Rong is still here. Who dares make trouble?”

Then comes the day the yellow robe is placed on his shoulders, leaving the entire court stunned. The street thug of old has already brought every warlord to heel.

Powerful minister: “General Zhao is reckless, with no regard for rites or rules!”

Zhao Kuangyin sneers. “The truth lies within the reach of this bronze staff of mine.”

Rules? I, Zhao Kuangyin, am the new rules!
