——In the spring of the sixth year of Zhenguan, a female Chinese medicine practitioner's counterattack
The story begins in the spring of the sixth year of Zhenguan, when Lin Banxia, a master of modern Chinese medicine, accidentally traveled through time and became an abandoned lady in Linjia Village. Her husband's family kicked her out in the name of "Kefu". She took a set of silver needles as a dowry and half a bag of coarse grains and returned to her parents' home where her parents had died. She lived with her younger brother Lin Xiaoman.
The difficult start of rural medical practice: In order to make a living, Lin Banxia began to practice medicine in the countryside. She uses sight, smell, inquiry, and sensation to accurately identify syndromes, and uses acupuncture and moxa, plantain, and dandelion that can be harvested in the fields to treat people's illnesses. She cured a mute child's chronic illness, and successfully delivered a baby for a peasant woman with dystocia, and gradually became famous within a ten-mile radius. However, Zhao Shoucheng, an old doctor in the village, resented her for "stealing his job." Lianheli was slandering her as "a woman practicing medicine is immoral" and even spread the rumor that "she had cured people to death." Lin Banxia was isolated, and someone threw stones at her courtyard wall in the middle of the night. She faced her first dilemma: swallow her anger or fight back? She chose to endure the accumulation - because she knew that confronting others head-on in this era would only put herself and her brother into more dangerous situations.
Perseverance in adversity: In the past two years, Lin Banxia has won the trust of a few villagers with her repeated successful treatments - pricking blood and resuscitating an old man who had fainted due to heat stroke, and moxibustion curing a child with severe wind and cold. She also took in a wandering orphan girl (the predecessor of the future senior sister Shen Yuniang, here can be a foreshadowing), but Zhao Shoucheng's exclusion never stopped. In the summer of the eighth year of Zhenguan, Guanzhong suffered from the worst drought in a century. The red land was thousands of miles away. The wells in Linjia Village dried up, and the people fled to Chang'an with their families. Zhao Shoucheng
