After divorcing, children's program director Xia Donghai returns to China with his son Xia Yu to pursue his career, and reunites with his daughter Xia Xue, who grew up there. Later, Xia Donghai marries Liu Mei, a head nurse at a local hospital. Liu Mei is also divorced and raising her son Liu Xing on her own. In this newly blended family of five, both parents care deeply about the children's healthy development.
