I fucking traveled through time.
When this idea came to me, I didn't even panic. Maybe my career as a working-class slave, who worked overtime for three days in a row and failed the public examination for the fifth time, had already worn down my emotional threshold to iron. Just go back in time, it's better than having to hand in that never-ending special rectification report next week.
I sat up and looked at the room I was in. There is a green brick floor, an old elm table, and a pile of yellowing files on the table. There is a calligraphy hanging on the wall, which reads "Zhengtang of Changshe County, Yingchang Prefecture" in sharp strokes. The sunlight slanting in from the window made the dust on the pile of files dance.
I sighed and was about to get out of bed to find a pair of shoes to wear when my eyes suddenly blurred.
A translucent panel appeared out of thin air directly in front of me, suspended in mid-air, with a light blue light glowing around the edges. The light was not blinding, but it made me freeze in place.
