At midnight, an undeletable text message turned everyone into a “player.” [Don’t look in the mirror], [If you hear your name, don’t turn around], [You must answer a question every two hours]… Break any rule, and you’ll vanish from the world.
While everyone else was barely scraping by under the rules, Chen Mo discovered that his contrarian nature let him spot their loopholes and contradictions. When everyone was faced with two conflicting rules, “Don’t leave by yourself” and “You must split up,” he smiled.
He used rules to fight rules and exploited bugs to break them, carving out a path to survival in a world of urban legends. Then one day, the world of urban legends sent out an announcement visible to everyone: “Midnight announcement: Please help us find the loopholes in the ‘rules.’”
Chen Mo closed the announcement and looked at the countless eyes peering in from outside the door. Calmly, he asked, “Do you know what ‘the final say’ means?”
