[Chaotic Good + classic literature instances + Chinese-style Lovecraftian horror + supernatural + infinite flow + madness + tributes to the classics + not mindless]
What if the literary classics you know by heart became a living hell?
A higher-dimensional civilization descends, dragging the world into instance after instance built from the absurd novels of great writers.
Lu Xun, Kafka, Marquez... Those profound works you thought you understood long ago have all become the deadliest rule-based horrors.
The first instance Zhou Shu is dragged into is Lu Xun’s Medicine.
He becomes Hua Xiaoshuan, a consumptive boy destined to eat a steamed bun soaked in human blood.
In this world, twisted family bonds and blind faith are more terrifying than death itself.
To survive, Zhou Shu binds himself to the Diary of a Madman template.
From then on, he can see the subtext hidden between the lines, and even disguise himself as a “local” to hide among the sinister NPCs.
Zhou Shu stays lucid amid the madness, glimpses the truth between the lines, and finally opens that long-sealed book of history, raising his voice against that “man-eating” world:
[I opened the history books and checked, but there were no dates. Every crooked page was covered in the words “benevolence, righteousness, propriety, wisdom, and faith.”]
[I tossed and turned, unable to sleep. After studying the pages for half the night, I finally read between the lines. The whole book was filled with two words: “man-eating”!]
A new book has set sail, please read it. If you have a copy you want to read, you can leave a message in the comment area [Thinking] I will refer to it.
Come on come on! Very well written!
