[Rugged military man + scheming village girl + sizzling chemistry + forced romance + building a fortune]
Everyone in the capital knows Huo Shaopan.
He's the wild wolf of the capital's military compound, the most uncontrollable man there: brutal, bloodthirsty, and above the law. Just hearing his name makes people tremble.
No one could believe that a ferocious beast like him would be completely wrapped around the finger of a young country girl!
They first met in a cornfield in the snow.
Badly wounded and overcome by the effects of a drug, he dragged her into a ditch like a caged beast. She didn't cry or scream. Instead, she grabbed his collar and used him as the blade that would cut through her desperate predicament.
They met again at an abandoned temple in Qingshui Village.
Alone, she set a trap for a gang of thugs, showing both courage and quick wits. With his eyes bloodshot, he ordered the gates of the scoundrel's house flattened for mistreating her, and had the old bachelor who tried to buy her crippled!
“I took your innocence. From now on, your life belongs to me.”
He claimed her as his territory with all the ruthlessness at his command. Back in the capital, as she battled her stepmother and crushed her rivals, Huo Shaopan sheltered her beneath his wings. Anyone who stood in their way would be slaughtered, god or Buddha!
The rich young ladies in the compound all mocked Sun Luoyi as a country bumpkin who didn't belong in their world and could barely read.
Then Sun Luoyi got the highest score in the entire city and was admitted to Peking University's economics department, leaving them all red-faced!
At the welcome gala, just as the campus heartthrob was about to confess his feelings, a powerful military off-roader drove right onto campus.
Huo Shaopan stepped out in his imposing uniform and, before the astonished eyes of students and faculty, pinned the newly crowned Peking University belle against the car and kissed her passionately.
“Take a good look. I claimed this girl back in that cornfield! Anyone who dares covet her can ask the gun in my hand if it'll let them!”
