Ye Xixi, a top graduate of the police academy and a provincial-level fighting champion, walked into the office of Wen Yan, the stone-faced head of the criminal investigation team, on her very first day at work, carrying thirty iced Americanos.
She had hoped to make a good impression and establish her image, but instead walked straight into a murder case after a body was discovered floating in the river.
A badly decomposed woman’s body, fatal ligature marks on the neck, waterlogged receipts, a chain of bloody flower-shop murders…
Every clue pointed to a mysterious number that had vanished. Three murders, three lives, and a killer with chilling composure.
She uses criminal psychology to profile the culprit; he draws on his field experience to identify the killer.
From ferry terminals to abandoned flower shops, from serial murders to bones deep in the mountains,
She is his sharpest profiling blade, and he is her strongest support.
“Captain Wen, I can solve cases, and I can protect you, too.”
“Shut up and do your job.”
He complains to her face, but always puts himself between her and danger.
One bloody murder after another, each revealing a deeper abyss of human nature.
When the truth finally comes to light, the stone-faced captain at last gives in:
“Ye Xixi, I’ll solve the cases. You’re mine.”
The main focus is on solving crimes, the story development is reasonable and the pace is fast, but it is also very bright. I highly recommend it and it is very interesting.
