Your Highness, the Princess Consort Is a Straight Man

Supermarket owner Li Yunyao transmigrates into Yunyao, an ill-fated princess consort in the history books who looks just like her. She assumes she’s in for a deadly palace-scheming plot from the start, but it turns out she’s got the wrong script. On her wedding night, both she and the secondary consort enter the household. After the wedding ceremony, she’s sent straight to a side courtyard. Her cold-faced prince husband warns her that his heart belongs only to his ideal woman and orders her to behave herself and stay in the side courtyard. Li Yunyao nods in delight: “This is actually a thing? I don’t have to wait on a man. It’s basically paid leave!”

When a white-lotus beauty sheds tears and frames her, he looks baffled: “That’s not the right angle for faking a fall. Next time, run into my arms. It’ll work better.”

When the prince accuses him of being jealous, he rolls his eyes: “Who has time for you? Don’t block me from going to the kitchen to develop new dishes. Even dogs wouldn’t eat this ancient food!”

Everyone thinks this disfavored princess consort is playing hard to get, but they don’t know that she’s quietly building her own food empire with a supermarket that automatically restocks every day, waiting until she has enough capital to hand in a divorce agreement and run away.

Until one day, the prince who once thought nothing of him corners him against a wall, eyes red, and asks, “What will it take for you to look at me more often?”

Yunyao: “? Who are you, man? Don’t get in the way of my career!”
