Weirdness descends on the 76-story office building. Chen Du, a social worker, discovers that others rely on luck to survive, while he relies on the performance system - completing tasks to get points, redeeming employee benefits, and setting KPIs for Weirdness to become an employee. While others were shivering on the ninth floor, he held a weekly meeting on the rooftop: "This quarter's weird production capacity is not up to standard, and performance will be deducted."
