Keep the Child, Leave the Father: Taking the Reins of the Gu Family's Trillion-Dollar Empire

Shen Nian is accidentally swept into the whirlwind of madness surrounding the Gu brothers. When she discovers that her husband, Gu Yanci, has been cold to her because of a conspiracy, she turns away only to fall into her brother-in-law Gu Huai’s obsessive cage. This man, once declared “never to wake up,” bares his chilling fangs when she asks for a divorce. “Pretending to be in a vegetative state was just a way to make you come willingly into my arms.”

A mistake on a night five years ago left her pregnant with Gu Huai’s child and made her the target of genetic experiments. Gu Zhenxiong’s “Ark Project” comes to light, and the genetic markers in the three children become the most dangerous bargaining chips. Torn between love and hate, Shen Nian struggles to resist Gu Huai’s uncontrollable possessiveness while protecting the children from being turned into “perfect experimental subjects.”

When a genetic bomb explodes at an abandoned observatory, Shen Nian finally discovers that she is the daughter of the original experimental subject, and that her children have become the key to both salvation and destruction. Gu Huai fights through bloodshed to save her, while Gu Zhenxiong points his gun at her children. The genetic curse and the bonds of blood collide in the pouring rain. This genetic war spanning three generations will finally reveal humanity’s darkest and brightest sides amid the brutal struggle between family ties and political scheming.
