Dust Returning Beneath the Sky Screen

An ensemble cast with multiple protagonists, featuring high-octane martial arts, power plays and cunning schemes, Eastern philosophy, a realistic world, and nuanced characters in an Eastern fantasy setting.

The last trace of the golden age's spiritual energy dissipated one hundred and thirty years ago.

Cultivators across the land believed the Heavenly Dao was dying. But four supreme cultivators were secretly maneuvering behind the scenes: exploiting imperial power, sects, border wars, and famine to strip the world of its cultivators, all to carve out a chance for themselves to attain sainthood.

What they didn't know was that spiritual energy was born from the righteousness of the people. What they had exhausted was their own path to the heavens.

With the Heavenly Dao in decline, the four great immortal sects scheme against one another. Li Mengchu, young master of the Blood War Sect; Gu Nianqing, the blind young master of the Gu clan; Shi Jingsheng, an orphaned miner from the Bluestone Sect; and Su Hanyue, a prodigy of the Heavenly Sword Sect, are drawn into the same game by grain, mines, medicine, and soldiers.

The sects' predicament, the imperial court's dark secrets, bloody battles on the frontier, and the people's suffering all intertwine.

Four young cultivators begin with wounds of their own, seeking the truth, breaking with old ways, and saving people's hearts.

The questions they ask are not about the heavens, but about the human world.
