The story follows Zhang Wei, a young man from a small fishing village who unexpectedly receives a divine blessing: the chance to improve the grade of an item once a day.
This ability lets him use three items to create one item of a higher grade, combining the individual properties of all three.
The ability has limits on its uses and item grades. The more items he offers up, the higher the grade ceiling and the more times he can use it each day.
Once a day, three become one: the grade rises, the attributes stack.
He scavenges junk: scrap iron, dead wood, broken stones. Everyone thinks he’s an idiot.
He doesn’t bother explaining.
At the sect tournament, geniuses show off their high-grade magical weapons. Zhang Wei pulls an ultimate-grade weapon from his pocket and sets it on the ground.
“Found it in the trash.”
During a secret-realm expedition, the chosen disciples show off their rare pills. Zhang Wei just pulls a piece of beef jerky from his pocket and pops it into his mouth.
“Just some ultimate-grade beef jerky.”
And so, with the favor of Heaven, Zhang Wei embarks on the path to immortality.
