From the Start, a Purple Thunderbolt Struck a Temple, and I Became Heaven's Spokesperson

Lu Ming looks after a dilapidated temple on Mount Gu. Few worshippers come by, his savings are scant, and he makes enough for the monthly electricity bill by swindling tourists with fortune-telling about their love lives.

He planned to keep scraping by like this until a video of purple lightning striking a temple appeared online. In the comments, a few lines of text glowed purple before his eyes.

Then he picked up a Thunder Ministry artifact. It came without a manual, had low battery, and loved to remind him at the worst possible moment: “Chixiao Thunder on cooldown.”

The Earth God of a village in the city was an evil entity, sucking the life force from elderly temple-goers to sustain itself.

Someone had turned the Liu family’s ancestral grave into an energy pump. The neighbors prospered year after year, while Old Liu’s family fell apart in just three.

An influencer went missing in an abandoned temple. A living person was trapped beneath the altar in the rear hall, while the statue continued receiving incense offerings, mimicking the appearance of a Heavenly King.

With work injuries all over and a terrible talisman scrawled with his left hand, Lu Ming went in and dealt with each mess one by one.

Later, he discovered that these scattered dirty jobs were all connected by the same web: thirty-seven sites across the country, all the work of the Pu Clan’s Incense Offering Bureau.

A woman named Su Tan at an old bookstore could see these places in her dreams, yet her family had treated her like a jinx and driven her away since childhood.

A poor Daoist, a strange woman, a useless artifact that kept yelling about unpaid bills, and an old notebook his master had hidden beneath the incense burner.

The list was long, and there were plenty of people to collect from. But when it came to the Thunder Ministry, someone had to settle the score.
