Carriage Thirteen

Every seven days, the world is formatted and rebooted right on schedule.

Folklore out of place, eerie whispers in the dead of night, layers of cybernetic illusion nested within one another. The rules are iron laws of life and death.

Everyone's memories are wiped. In ignorance and terror, they sink again and again, trapped in an endless cycle with no peace in sight.

Chen Mo alone is the exception.

A former top criminal profiler, he has hyperthymesia that locks every memory in place. The darkness, desperate situations, and truths of countless cycles are borne by him alone, while he remains conscious through eternity.

He relies on neither supernatural powers nor eerie forces, and asks no gods for protection.

The spot where a speck of dust lands, the fading of a breath, the shift of a sliver of light and shadow: each is a blade with which he can break through the deadlock. Through meticulous deduction and profiling every detail, he uses the intellect of an ordinary person to dismantle every illusory rule in the world.

Twelve train cars bear the suffering of countless souls trapped in reincarnation, imprisoning humanity through the rise and fall of countless generations.

Yet no one knows that the thirteenth car at the end of the train holds the sole truth of a higher-dimensional trial, the only way out for those lost in countless cycles, and the ultimate path by which he can break free of fate and reach a new beginning.

When the whole world chooses to forget, he alone stays lucid, pierces the lies, and escapes the game at its end.
