On Wudang Mountain, Xiang Qing stepped wrong while trying to photograph a “fruit of life” and pulled her whole family over a ten-thousand-foot cliff. At the brink of death, a mysterious voice offered them a choice: keep falling, or transmigrate to prehistoric times?
The family of four chose the latter, and were allowed to bring one thing with them. Xiang Qing decisively chose “Doubao” on her phone, an AI assistant that needed neither electricity nor internet and could teach them anything.
And so, a group of modern people landed in a vast, primeval forest wearing nothing but animal hides.
Doubao could teach them to identify wild greens, make stone pots, and find salt mines, but it could also mistake mushrooms for ginseng. Xiang Qing’s words seemed to have magic: she casually sang “Two Tigers,” and two disabled tigers really did show up. She said, “Send someone who can help,” and a mother panda and her cub came to join them. The half-dead flower bud in the lotus pond turned out to be a dormant spirit. After eating the wild fruit they offered, it actually began to speak.
Her brother Xiang Tian’s Wudang Mountain martial arts became his secret weapon for hunting. Their mother, Zhang Wanqing, used hemp thread to weave the first piece of cloth, while their father, Xiang Qingshan, plowed the first field in prehistoric society. Their family of four grew into a tribe as the old, weak, sick, and injured came to join them, and they were marked in the presence of the lotus spirit.
Winter was coming. They had to stockpile food, make cotton clothes, dig a hot spring, and learn the language, while the neighboring tribe eyed them warily and they still had no idea whether they were friends or foes. Luckily, they had Doubao, a phone with cheat-level abilities, and a mouth even more powerful than the phone.
